How sports come online
Every sport on Parlaid needs two things before it can be backtested honestly: enough historical line data captured, so bets are priced the way a sportsbook actually priced them at the time, and enough settled results data to run a fair-sized sample. Both accrue automatically as Parlaid captures live data going forward — there's no free way to backfill years of odds history, so newer sports start slow and get more reliable the longer they're tracked. Once a sport clears that bar it moves from "Coming soon" here to a full tab with real backtests, presets, and a leaderboard, the same as NFL, NBA, and MLB today.
